This topic provides answers to some frequently asked questions (FAQ) when you build landing zones.

Do I need to create the Core folder and Applications folder?

No, you can create the folders based on your business scenario.

We recommend that you create the following folders based on the best practices. If the folders do not exist in the management account, Cloud Governance Center automatically creates the folders. If the folders already exist, Cloud Governance Center does not create the folders.

  • Core: This folder contains member accounts that are used to manage resources.
  • Applications: This folder contains member accounts that are used to perform specific business operations.

What do I do if existing accounts in the resource directory do not meet the requirements for a billing account?

You can resolve the issue based on one of the following scenarios:

  • The management account does not meet the requirements.

    The financial information about the current management account may be incomplete. For example, the invoice information is not specified. To specify the required financial information, go to the User Center.

  • The main financial account cannot join the current resource directory.

    The main financial account of your enterprise is added to another resource directory. You cannot invite the main financial account to join the current resource directory and use the account as a billing account. To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods:

    • Use the main financial account to define financial management relationships between other accounts in another resource directory of your enterprise. You can use this existing resource directory.
    • Disassociate the current management account from the main financial account. Then, specify the management account as a billing account.
    • Select a more suitable Alibaba Cloud account as a billing account.
  • Member accounts do not meet the requirements for a billing account.
    To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods:
    • Member accounts are created in the resource directory. The financial information about the existing member accounts may be incomplete. For example, the invoice information is not specified. To specify the required financial information, go to the User Center.
    • No member accounts are available. You can invite an existing Alibaba Cloud account of your enterprise to join the current resource directory, or create a member account.
