Subscription

Subscription is a billing method that requires you to pay for resources before you can use the resources. The subscription billing method allows you to reserve resources and purchase resources at discounted rates.

The subscription billing method is supported in Cloud Firewall Premium Edition, Enterprise Edition, and Ultimate Edition. The supported features and billable items vary based on the edition. For more information, see Subscription.

• The resource usage remains relatively flat.

• Resources are used for a long period of time.

Pay-as-you-go

Pay-as-you-go is a billing method that allows you to use resources before you pay for them. You can purchase and release resources based on your business requirements. You do not need to purchase a large number of resources in advance.

You are charged based on the configuration fee of public IP addresses, processing fee of Internet traffic, number of NAT firewalls, and processing fee of private network traffic. For more information, see Pay-as-you-go.

• Your business has short-term requirements on resources.

Pay-as-you-go savings plan

A savings plan is a discount plan that provides savings over pay-as-you-go rates in exchange for a commitment to use a consistent amount of resources for a specific period of time. You can obtain a greater discount and reduce more costs when you purchase a pay-as-you-go savings plan with a larger committed consumption amount.

You can use a savings plan to offset the fees for the billable items of Cloud Firewall that uses the pay-as-you-go billing method within your Alibaba Cloud account. The fees include the configuration fee of public IP addresses and traffic processing fee.

You can use a pay-as-you-go savings plan only when your Cloud Firewall uses the pay-as-you-go billing method.
