This topic provides answers to some frequently asked questions about the billing of Cloud Firewall.

How do I increase the quota for a billable item if the quota is insufficient?

Cloud Firewall allows you to purchase additional quotas for specific billable items if the quotas are insufficient. The billable items are Protected Public IP Addresses, Protected Internet Traffic, Protected VPCs, Protected VPC Traffic, and Quota for Additional Policy. Does Cloud Firewall that uses the pay-as-you-go billing method support features such as log analysis and VPC Firewall?

No, Cloud Firewall that uses the pay-as-you-go billing method does not support the log analysis or virtual private cloud (VPC) Firewall feature. For more information about the features supported by Cloud Firewall that uses the pay-as-you-go billing method, see Functions and features.

Can I manually release Cloud Firewall before it expires?

Yes, you can manually release Cloud Firewall before it expires.

  • If your Cloud Firewall uses the subscription billing method, you can manually release Cloud Firewall 15 days before Cloud Firewall expires and 7 days after Cloud Firewall expires.

    Important

    You cannot claim refunds for Cloud Firewall that uses the subscription billing method after you manually release it.

  • If your Cloud Firewall uses the pay-as-you-go billing method, you can release Cloud Firewall at any time.

Does Cloud Firewall manage the traffic between ECS instances in an internal network?

No, Cloud Firewall does not manage the traffic between Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances in an internal network.

Can I switch the billing method between pay-as-you-go and subscription for Cloud Firewall?

  • You can change the billing method of Cloud Firewall from pay-as-you-go to subscription. For more information, see Pay-as-you-go.

  • You cannot change the billing method of Cloud Firewall from subscription to pay-as-you-go.

    If you want to change the billing method of Cloud Firewall from subscription to pay-as-you-go and your Cloud Firewall meets the requirements for manual release, you can manually release Cloud Firewall that uses the subscription billing method and then purchase Cloud Firewall that uses the pay-as-you-go billing method.     Note

    After you release Cloud Firewall, the configuration data of Cloud Firewall, such as configuration data of access control policies, protection policies, and traffic analysis policies, is retained for 15 days. The log analysis data is not retained. If you reactivate Cloud Firewall within 15 days after it is released, the original configuration data is retained. After the 15 days, the configuration data is deleted.
