Cloud Firewall offers three billing methods: subscription, pay-as-you-go, and pay-as-you-go savings plans.
Billing methods
| Billing method | How it works | When to use |
|---|---|---|
| Subscription 2.0 | Upfront payment that reserves resources in advance at a lower price than pay-as-you-go. Pay-as-you-go for burstable traffic is enabled by default to maintain protection during sales promotions, major events, or short-term traffic bursts. | Your resource usage period is predictable, your business traffic is stable, or you need resources over the long term. |
| Pay-as-you-go 2.0 | Post-paid billing with no upfront purchase. Enable and release resources on demand. | Your usage changes frequently, or you have temporary or unpredictable resource requirements. |
| Pay-as-you-go savings plans | A prepaid package that works like a stored-value card. Apply it to receive discounts on standard pay-as-you-go fees and burstable subscription traffic fees. | Your usage changes frequently or you have temporary resource requirements, and you want to reduce pay-as-you-go costs. |
