Cloud Enterprise Network:Monitor network instance connections

Last Updated:Dec 04, 2023

You can use CloudMonitor to monitor network instance connections and data transfer, and create alert rules to generate alerts when specific thresholds are exceeded. This helps you identify data transfer anomalies at the earliest opportunity.

Limits

You can view the monitoring data of only network instance connections that are associated with Enterprise Edition transit routers.

View the monitoring data of network instance connections

  1. Log on to the CEN console.

  2. On the Instances page, click the ID of the CEN instance that you want to manage.

  3. On the Basic Settings > Transit Router tab, click the ID of the transit router with which the network instance connection is associated.

  4. On the Intra-region Connections tab, find the network instance connection that you want to manage and click the 监控 icon in the Monitoring column to view the monitoring data of the network instance connection.

    • By default, the monitoring data of the last hour is displayed. Each data point represents the average value within the minute.

You can query monitoring data within the last 3 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours, 1 day, 7 days, and 30 days, or a custom time period. You can also set the Interval parameter to query monitoring data that is collected at a specified interval.

    • The monitoring data is dynamically updated.

On the top of the Charts tab, turn on Auto Refresh to enable the system to automatically update the monitoring data every minute.

    • AttachmentOutRate: the data transfer rate from the transit router to the network instance. Unit: bit/s.

    • AttachmentInRate: the data transfer rate from the network instance to the transit router. Unit: bit/s.

    • AttachmentBlackHoleDropBytes: the rate at which data packets from the network instance to the transit router are dropped due to blackhole routing. Unit: bit/s.

    Note

You can also view monitoring data of network instance connections on the Charts tab. For more information, see View the monitoring data of network instance connections.

Create a threshold-triggered alert rule for a network instance connection

  1. Log on to the CEN console.

  2. On the Instances page, click the ID of the CEN instance that you want to manage.

  3. On the Basic Settings > Transit Router tab, click the ID of the transit router with which the network instance connection is associated.

  4. On the Intra-region Connections tab, find the network instance connection that you want to manage and click Set Alarm in the Monitoring column.

  5. In the Add Rule Description panel, set the parameters and click OK.

The following table describes the parameters that are related to this topic. For more information about how to configure other parameters, see Create an alert rule.

    Parameter

    Description

    Alert Rule

Enter a name for the alert rule.

    Metric Type

Select a metric type for the alert rule. In this example, Single Metric is selected. For more information about how to configure multiple metrics and dynamic thresholds, see Create an alert template.

    • Single Metric

    • Multiple Metrics

    • Dynamic Threshold

    Metric

Select a metric for the alert rule.

    • AttachmentOutRate: the data transfer rate from the transit router to the network instance.

    • AttachmentInRate: the data transfer rate from the network instance to the transit router.

    • AttachmentBlackHoleDropBytes: the rate at which data packets from the network instance to the transit router are dropped due to blackhole routing. Unit: bit/s.

    Threshold and Alert Level

Set the alert conditions, alert threshold, and alert level of the alert rule.

    Chart Preview

The monitoring data of the selected metric is displayed in the chart.

  6. In the Create Alert Rule panel, verify that the associated resources and rule descriptions are correct, add an alert contact group, and then click Confirm.

For more information, see Create an alert rule.
