You can create one transit router in each region. A transit router is used to forward data within the same region or across different regions.

Background information

You can use one of the following methods to create a Basic Edition transit router or an Enterprise Edition transit router:
  • Automatic creation
    The first time you connect to a network instance in a region, the system automatically creates a transit router in the region. The system automatically recognizes the edition of the transit router based on the region. For more information about how to connect to a network instance, see the following topics:

  • Manual creation

    You can manually create a transit router by following the procedure described in this topic.

Create a transit router

  1. Log on to the CEN console.
  2. On the Instances page, find the CEN instance that you want to manage and click the instance ID.
  3. On the Basic Settings > Transit Router tab, click Create Transit Router.
  4. In the Create Transit Router dialog box, set the following parameters and click OK.
    Parameter Description
    Region Select the region where you want to create the transit router.
    Edition Displays the edition of the transit router.

    The system displays the transit router edition that is supported in the selected region.

    Name Enter a name for the transit router.

    The name must be 2 to 128 characters in length, and can contain letters, digits, underscores (_), and hyphens (-). The name must start with a letter.

    Description Enter a description for the transit router.

    The description must be 2 to 128 characters in length, and can contain digits, hyphens (-), and underscores (_). It must start with a letter. This parameter is optional.

View the edition of a transit router

You can also view the edition of a transit router in the console.

  1. Log on to the CEN console.
  2. On the Instances page, find the CEN instance that you want to manage and click the instance ID.
  3. You can use one of the following methods to view the edition of a transit router.
    • On the Basic Settings > Transit Router tab, find the transit router that you want to manage and view the edition in the Edition column. Method 1
    • On the Basic Settings > Transit Router tab, click the ID of the transit router that you want to manage. On the details page of the transit router, click the Basic Settings tab. On the Basic Settings tab, you can view the value of the Version parameter, which indicates the edition of the transit router. Method 2

Delete a transit router

You can delete transit routers that you no longer use. Before you delete a transit router, make sure that the following requirements are met:
  1. Log on to the CEN console.
  2. On the Instances page, find the CEN instance that you want to manage and click the instance ID.
  3. On the Basic Settings > Transit Router tab, find the transit router that you want to delete and click Delete in the Actions column.
  4. In the Delete Transit Router message, confirm the ID of the transit router that you want to delete and click OK.
