You can view monitoring information about Express Connect circuits associated with virtual border routers (VBRs) by integrating the health check feature of Cloud Enterprise Network (CEN) with CloudMonitor. The monitoring information includes outbound bandwidth, inbound bandwidth, latency, and packet loss rate.

Prerequisites

The health check feature is configured for the VBR. For more information, see Configure health checks.

View monitoring information about an Express Connect circuit

  1. Log on to the CEN console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Health Check.
  3. On the Health Check page, select the region where the VBR is deployed.
  4. Find the health check settings that you want to manage and click the The Monitor icon icon in the Monitor column to view monitoring information about the Express Connect circuit.

By default, the system displays monitoring data collected within the last hour. You can also choose to view the monitoring data collected within the last 3 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours, or the last day by selecting an option from the drop-down list in the upper-left corner of the Monitoring page. You can also specify a custom time range.

    • Outbound Bandwidth: the bandwidth for data transfer from Alibaba Cloud to your data center. Unit: bit/s. This is the default unit.

You can select Kbit/s, Mbit/s, or Gbit/s from the drop-down list next to the monitoring metric.

    • Inbound Bandwidth: the bandwidth for data transfer from your data center to Alibaba Cloud. Unit: bit/s. This is the default unit.

You can select Kbit/s, Mbit/s, or Gbit/s from the drop-down list next to the monitoring metric.

    • Latency: the network latency between Alibaba Cloud and your data center. Unit: milliseconds.
    • Packet Loss Rate: the packet loss rate of the data transfer between Alibaba Cloud and your data center.

Create a threshold-based alert rule for an Express Connect circuit

  1. Log on to the CEN console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Health Check.
  3. On the Health Check page, select the region where the VBR is deployed. Find the health check settings that you want to manage and click Set Alarm in the Monitor column.
  4. On the Alert Rules page, click Create Alert Rule.
  5. On the Create Alert Rule page, set Product to CEN-Router, set other parameters based on your requirements, and then click OK.
You can configure a threshold-triggered alert rule by specifying a threshold value for network latency, packet loss rate, inbound bandwidth, or outbound bandwidth. For more information, see Create an alert rule.
