This rule checks whether the average connection usage of an RDS instance reaches or exceeds a specified threshold for at least 8 hours within a given period. The default detection period is the last 7 days. The rule applies only to MySQL RDS instances of non-Cluster and non-Serverless editions that are connected to Cloud Monitor and have monitoring data.

You can adjust the risk level based on your requirements.
Detection logic
-
An RDS instance is considered non-compliant if its average connection usage reaches or exceeds the specified threshold for at least 8 hours within the detection period. The default detection period is the last 7 days. An RDS instance is considered not applicable if it is not connected to Cloud Monitor, has no monitoring data, uses the Cluster Edition or Serverless Edition, or is of a type other than MySQL. The check retrieves monitoring data through the Cloud Monitor API and consumes the free quota of basic Cloud Monitor. To improve detection quality, enable Hybrid Cloud Monitoring. For billing details, see Cloud Monitor billing.
