ApsaraDB for ClickHouse:Storage plans

Last Updated:Mar 28, 2026

Storage plans let you prepay for Object Storage Service (OSS) storage capacity used by ApsaraDB for ClickHouse Enterprise Edition clusters, at a lower rate than pay-as-you-go pricing. A single plan can offset usage across multiple clusters in different supported regions simultaneously.

Important

The prices in this document are for reference only. The actual prices displayed in the console apply.

How it works

When you purchase a storage plan, the plan's capacity is drawn down each hour based on your clusters' actual OSS storage usage.

The amount deducted from the plan each hour is:

Deductible amount = Actual storage usage × Offset factor

The offset factor varies by region and deployment zone. For regions with an offset factor greater than 1, the plan is drawn down faster than the raw storage consumed — this reflects the higher cost of multi-zone redundancy. For regions with an offset factor less than 1, each GB of actual usage draws down less than 1 GB from the plan.

If your usage exceeds the plan's remaining capacity in any hour, the excess is charged at the pay-as-you-go rate. Unused plan capacity is not refunded.

Supported regions and offset factors

Storage plans offset OSS storage usage in the following regions. The offset factor determines how much plan capacity is consumed per GB of actual storage.

Examples

The following examples illustrate how deductions work under common scenarios.

Example 1: Single cluster

You have a 100 GB storage plan and a single-zone cluster in Singapore that uses 12 GB of OSS storage for one hour.

Deduction: 12 GB × 1 h × 1.00 = 12 GB·h

The plan has 88 GB·h remaining. No extra charges are incurred.

Example 2: Multiple clusters across regions

You have a 100 GB storage plan shared across three clusters:

  • A single-zone cluster in Singapore

  • A single-zone cluster in US (Virginia)

  • A multi-zone cluster in Hangzhou

During one hour:

ClusterStorage usedOffset factorAmount deducted from plan
Singapore (single zone)12 GB1.0012 GB × 1 h × 1.00 = 12 GB·h
US (Virginia) (single zone)10 GB0.9410 GB × 1 h × 0.94 = 9.4 GB·h
Hangzhou (multi-zone)16 GB1.3416 GB × 1 h × 1.34 = 21.44 GB·h
Total42.84 GB·h

42.84 GB·h is within the plan's 100 GB capacity. No extra charges are incurred for that hour.

Example 3: Usage exceeds plan capacity

Using the same three clusters as Example 2, if the Hangzhou multi-zone cluster instead uses 60 GB for one hour:

ClusterStorage usedOffset factorAmount deducted
Singapore (single zone)12 GB1.0012 GB·h
US (Virginia) (single zone)10 GB0.949.4 GB·h
Hangzhou (multi-zone)60 GB1.3480.4 GB·h
Total101.8 GB·h

The total exceeds the 100 GB plan capacity by 1.8 GB·h. That excess is charged at the pay-as-you-go rate.

Purchase a storage plan

Important

Storage plans are non-refundable. Estimate your usage before purchasing. Usage that exceeds the plan's capacity is charged at the pay-as-you-go rate; unused capacity is not refunded.

  1. Go to the ApsaraDB for ClickHouse Enterprise Edition purchase page.

  2. Set Product Type to Enterprise Edition Storage Plan.

  3. Configure Storage Plan Size, Quantity, and Subscription Duration.

  4. Click Buy Now.

  5. On the Confirm Order page, select the Terms Of Service checkbox.

  6. Click Pay and complete the payment.

A storage plan can be used to offset the storage resource usage of Enterprise Edition clusters under your Alibaba Cloud account. The following limits apply.

  • Regions: China (Hangzhou), China (Shanghai), China (Beijing), China (Shenzhen), Singapore, and US (Virginia).

  • Storage class: OSS.

Storage plan offset factors

Storage plans have different offset factors for different regions. Therefore, the deductible capacity of a resource plan also varies based on the region of the instance. For example, for a 100 GB storage plan, the following table shows the storage resource capacity that can be offset per hour during its validity period.

Example

Deductible amount of a resource plan = Actual storage usage of the instance × Offset factor of the instance's region.

For example, assume you purchase a 100 GB storage plan and have a single-zone Enterprise instance in Singapore, a single-zone Enterprise instance in the US, and a multi-zone Enterprise instance in Hangzhou. The storage resource consumption of these instances can be offset by the same storage plan. If the Singapore instance uses 12 GB of storage resources for 1 hour, this offsets 12 GB × 1 H × 1.00 = 12 GB·h from the storage plan. If the US instance uses 10 GB of storage resources for 1 hour, this offsets 10 GB × 1 H × 0.94 = 9.4 GB·h from the storage plan. If the Hangzhou instance uses 16 GB of storage resources for 1 hour, this offsets 16 GB × 1 H × 1.34 = 21.44 GB·h from the storage plan. At the end of the hour, the total offset amount is 12 GB·h + 9.4 GB·h + 21.44 GB·h = 42.84 GB·h. Because the total offset amount is within the capacity of the purchased storage plan, no extra fees are incurred.

View offset usage

  1. Log on to User Center.User Center

  2. In the left navigation pane, click Resource Management.

  3. On the Resource Management page, set Dimension to Resource Plan.

  4. On the Instance Summary tab, find your storage plan using the Product Name and Resource Plan Name columns to view its total and remaining capacity.
