This topic describes how to send Messenger messages to interact with your users.
Prerequisites
You have created a Messenger template. For more information, see Design a template.
A user has sent a message to your Page.
NoteMessenger supports interactive conversations with end users. Therefore, the conversation must be initiated by the user. You cannot send the first message.
A user can open a standard messaging window by performing one of the actions in the list of actions that open the standard messaging window. You can then send messages to the user within 24 hours.
A standard messaging window is a 24-hour period during which you can send messages to a user. The window opens when a user sends a message to your Page or starts a conversation through a web plug-in. You have up to 24 hours to reply.
Procedure
Follow these steps to send a message.
Go to the page. Click the Channel ID of the Messenger channel that you want to manage.

Go to the Message Sending page and configure the parameters on the right.

Language
The language of the message must match the language of the Messenger message template.
Send Message
Click Select Template and choose an approved template from the list. In the dialog box that appears, the template list is filtered based on your selected language to show only the relevant Messenger message templates.
Sender Account
The sending account is the Page.
Send Type
Scheduled Send: Set a specific time to send the message.
Send Now: Send the message immediately after you click Send.
Import Method
You can use one of the following two methods to specify recipient numbers.
Upload Excel File: Suitable for sending messages in bulk. Upload recipient numbers from an Excel file. Perform these steps:
Click Download Template and enter the recipient numbers in the sample template.
Click Upload File to upload the file that contains the recipient numbers.
Import Phone Number Group: Suitable for sending a small number of messages. After you select this option, click Add Phone Number to manually add recipient numbers.
NoteThe imported numbers must belong to users who have sent a message to your Page within the last 24 hours. Otherwise, the message fails to be sent.
The Download Template button is unavailable until you select a message template.
If the message template contains variables, use the Upload from Excel method to import recipient numbers. Do not modify the table headers. Otherwise, the system cannot detect the variable parameters.
After you complete the configuration, click Send.

List of actions that open a standard messaging window
A user can perform one of the actions in the following list to open a standard messaging window. Users expect a timely reply. We strongly recommend that you reply within 24 hours. Users can block or mute a conversation at any time.
A user sends a message to your Page or Instagram professional account.
A user clicks a call-to-action button such as Get Started in a conversation.
A user clicks a Click-to-Messenger ad and then sends a message to your Page or Instagram professional account.
A user clicks an m.me link that opens an existing conversation between the user and the Page.
A user clicks an ig.me link that opens an existing conversation between the user and the Instagram professional account.
A user reacts to a message, such as a marketing message.
A user comments on a post on your Page or Instagram professional account.
A user publishes a post on your Page.
