This topic describes how to create variables for the message template.
Procedure
When creating or editing a template on the Template Design page, you can add variables to the template's Body or Header.
Add a text variable
You can add text variables to the content in the Body or Header, and to the description of a document or video.
On the Template Design page, in the Header Information section, set Material Type to Text. Click Select Variable. In the dialog box, click Add Variable.
Enter a Variable Code and Variable Name, select a Variable Type, and enter an Example.
Click OK to save the variable.
Add an image variable
When the Header's Material Type is Image, you can create a variable for the Send Content. This allows you to send a different image than the one provided as an example.
On the Template Design page, in the Header Information section, set Material Type to Image and clear the Also as Sent Content checkbox.
In the Message Content section, click Select Variable, and then click Add Variable.
In the Add Variable dialog box, enter a Variable Code and Variable Name, set Variable Type to Image, and enter an Example.
Click OK to save the variable.
Add a document variable
When the Header's Material Type is Document, you can create a variable for the Send Content. This allows you to send a different document than the one provided as an example.
On the Template Design page, in the Header Information section, set Material Type to Document and clear the Also as Sent Content checkbox.
In the Message Content section, click Select Variable, and then click Add Variable.
In the Add Variable dialog box, enter a Variable Code, a Variable Name, and an Example.
Click OK to save the variable.
Add a video variable
When the Header's Material Type is Video, you can create a variable for the Send Content. This allows you to send a different video than the one provided as an example.
On the Template Design page, in the Header Information section, set Material Type to Video and clear the Also as Sent Content checkbox.
In the Message Content section, click Select Variable, and then click Add Variable.
In the Add Variable dialog box, enter a Variable Code, a Variable Name, and an Example.
Click OK to save the variable.
