This topic describes how to add and manage live monitoring sessions in the ApsaraVideo Live console.

Background information

ApsaraVideo Live provides the live monitoring feature, which allows you to monitor the quality of live events in real time. Alerts are triggered when exceptions such as frame rate changes, audio and video sync issues, latency, and stuttering occur. This ensures the continuity of various types of live events.


  1. Log on to the ApsaraVideo Live console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Live Monitoring > Monitoring Session > Add Session to add a monitoring session. You can manage the session that you added in the Actions column.
  3. Add a session.

    Parameter Description
    Session Name Enter a session name.
    Output Resolution Select an output resolution from the drop-down list. Multiple resolutions in landscape and portrait modes are supported.
    Live Center Select a live center that provides media processing services for live streams from the drop-down list.
    Merged Stream Domain Name Select a domain name from the drop-down list. If no suitable domain name is available, click Add to add a domain name. For more information, see Add a domain name.
    Stream Configurations You can manually add streams or select streams from the ApsaraVideo Live console. You can add up to 12 channels to each session.
    Add Manually Click Add Manually. Enter a stream name in the Stream Name field and a stream URL in the Stream URL field. You can sort or delete the streams that you configured.
    Select from ApsaraVideo Live Console Click Select from ApsaraVideo Live Console. In the Select from ApsaraVideo Live Console dialog box, select a domain name from the Domain Name drop-down list and select a stream for Live Stream.
    OK Click OK.
  4. Start monitoring.
    After you add a monitoring session, click Start Monitoring in the Actions column on the Monitoring Session page to start monitoring. Click Preview to go to the monitoring page.
