ApsaraDB RDS:ModifyDasInstanceConfig

Last Updated:Jun 01, 2023

You can call the ModifyDasInstanceConfig operation to configure automatic storage expansion for an ApsaraDB RDS instance.

Operation Description

This operation is supported for ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL instances that run RDS High-availability Edition and use standard SSDs or enhanced SSDs (ESSDs) and ApsaraDB RDS for PostgreSQL instances that use standard SSDs or ESSDs. If the available storage reaches the specified threshold, ApsaraDB RDS increases the storage capacity of the instance to meet your storage requirements. In most cases, no transient connections occur during the expansion process. For more information, see Configure automatic storage expansion for an ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL instance and Configure automatic storage expansion for an ApsaraDB RDS for PostgreSQL instance.

NoteIf an automatic storage expansion is triggered, ApsaraDB RDS increases the storage capacity based on the larger value between 15% of the purchased storage capacity and 5 GB.

Authorization information

The following table shows the authorization information corresponding to the API. The authorization information can be used in the Action policy element to grant a RAM user or RAM role the permissions to call this API operation. Description:

  • Operation: the value that you can use in the Action element to specify the operation on a resource.
  • Access level: the access level of each operation. The levels are read, write, and list.
  • Resource type: the type of the resource on which you can authorize the RAM user or the RAM role to perform the operation. Take note of the following items:
    • The required resource types are displayed in bold characters.
    • If the permissions cannot be granted at the resource level, All Resources is used in the Resource type column of the operation.
  • Condition Key: the condition key that is defined by the cloud service.
  • Associated operation: other operations that the RAM user or the RAM role must have permissions to perform to complete the operation. To complete the operation, the RAM user or the RAM role must have the permissions to perform the associated operations.

Request parameters

ParameterTypeRequiredDescriptionExample
ClientTokenstringNo

The client token that is used to ensure the idempotence of the request. You can use the client to generate the token, but you must make sure that the generated token is unique among different requests. The token can contain only ASCII characters and cannot exceed 64 characters in length.

DBInstanceIdstringYes

The ID of the instance.

rm-uf6wjk5*****
StorageAutoScalestringYes

Specifies whether to enable automatic storage expansion. Valid values:

  • Enable
  • Disable
Enable
StorageThresholdintegerNo

The threshold in percentage based on which an automatic storage expansion is triggered. If the available storage reaches the threshold, ApsaraDB RDS increases the storage capacity of the instance. Valid values:

  • 10
  • 20
  • 30
  • 40
  • 50
NoteIf you set the StorageAutoScale parameter to Enable, you must specify this parameter.
50
StorageUpperBoundintegerNo

The maximum storage capacity that is allowed by automatic storage expansion. The value of this parameter must be equal to or greater than the current storage capacity of the instance.

  • Valid value for instances with ESSDs: 32000. Unit: GB

  • Valid value for instances with standard SSDs: 6000. Unit: GB

NoteIf you set the StorageAutoScale parameter to Enable, you must specify this parameter.
