If an existing alert rule cannot meet your requirements for the metrics of a specific cloud service, you can modify the alert rule.


  1. Log on to the CloudMonitor console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Alerts > Alert Rules.
  3. On the Alert Rules page, find the alert rule that you want to modify and click Modify in the Actions column.
  4. In the Create Alert Rule panel, set the parameters. The following table describes the parameters.
    Parameter Description
    Rule Description The condition that triggers the alert rule. If a metric meets the specified condition, an alert is triggered. To modify the rule description, perform the following steps:
    1. Find the description that you want to modify, and click the Modify icon.
    2. In the Add Rule Description panel, configure the rule name, metrics, threshold, alert level, and notification methods.
    3. Click OK.
    Channel Silence Cycle The interval at which CloudMonitor sends alert notifications after the first alert notification is sent. Valid values: 5 min, 15 min, 30 min, 60 min, 3 h, 6 h, 12 h, and 24 h.
    If the threshold value is exceeded, CloudMonitor sends an alert notification. If the threshold value is exceeded again within the mute period, CloudMonitor does not resend an alert notification. If the alert is not cleared when the mute period elapses, CloudMonitor resends an alert notification.

    Effective Time The validity period of the alert rule. The system checks whether to send alert notifications only within the validity period of an alert rule.

    Alert Contact Group The alert contact group to which alert notifications are sent.

    The alert notifications of the application group are sent to the alert contacts that belong to the alert contact group. An alert contact group can contain one or more alert contacts.

    HTTP WebHook The URL that is used to receive the alert notifications from CloudMonitor by using HTTP POST requests. The URL must be accessible over the Internet. You can enter only an HTTP URL. For more information about how to configure alert callbacks, see Use the alert callback feature to send notifications about threshold-triggered alerts.
    Auto Scaling After you turn on Auto Scaling, the specified scaling rule is triggered if an alert is generated. In this case, you must specify Region, ESS Group, and ESS Rule.
    Log Service After you turn on Log Service, the alert message is written to Log Service if an alert is generated. In this case, you must set the Region, ProjectName, and Logstore parameters.

    No data alarm processing method The processing method of alerts when no monitoring data is found. Valid values:
    • Do not do anything (default)
    • Send no data alarm
    • Treated as normal
  5. Click OK.
