You can modify the password for an instance if you have forgotten it, need to change the existing one, or did not set one during instance creation.
Usage notes

Cassandra is the default superuser account. You can use this account to create other accounts and grant data access permissions.

After modifying the password, you must wait at least 30 seconds before you can log in with the new password. The cache for the old password expires after 30 seconds.
Procedure

Log in to the Cassandra instance console and click the name of your instance. In the navigation pane on the left, click account management.

In the account information list, click modify password for the cassandra user.

In the modify password dialog box, enter a new password in the password and confirm password fields. Then, click OK.
