Resource groups are used to group your resources by usage, permission, and region. You can use resource groups to organize your resources in a hierarchical manner, and group resources based on users and projects. Each cloud resource can belong to a single resource group. The correlation among resources does not change after they are added to resource groups. This topic describes how to manage and configure resource groups and how to filter gateways by resource group.
Usage notes
A resource group can contain cloud resources from different regions. For example, Resource Group A can contain instances from the China (Beijing) and China (Hangzhou) regions.
Resource groups inherit the global permissions of their associated Resource Access Management (RAM) users. If you authorize a RAM user to manage all Alibaba Cloud resources, all resource groups of the Alibaba Cloud account to which the RAM user belongs also appear in the resource group information of the RAM user.
