Resource groups allow you to organize your cloud resources by dimensions such as purpose, permission, and ownership. This enables hierarchical resource management for multiple users and projects within your enterprise. A cloud resource can belong to only one resource group. The relationships between cloud resources are not affected when they are added to a resource group. This topic describes how to manage and configure resource groups, and how to filter instances by resource group.
Usage notes
A resource group can contain cloud resources from different regions. For example, Resource Group A can contain instances from the China (Beijing) and China (Hangzhou) regions.
Resource groups inherit the global permissions of a Resource Access Management (RAM) user. If you grant a RAM user permissions to manage all Alibaba Cloud resources, the RAM user can also access all resource groups that belong to your Alibaba Cloud account.
