Anti-DDoS Basic provides free DDoS attack mitigation for Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances. Before running a stress test, raise the traffic scrubbing thresholds for your ECS instance — otherwise, Anti-DDoS Basic may treat your test traffic as an attack and scrub it automatically.
Default scrubbing thresholds
Anti-DDoS Basic triggers automatic traffic scrubbing when any of the following thresholds are exceeded:
| Metric | Default threshold |
|---|---|
| Network bandwidth | 180 Mbit/s |
| Packet rate | 30,000 packets per second |
| HTTP request rate | 480 requests per second |
Note: Thresholds may vary by ECS instance type.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure that you have:
Access to the Traffic Security console
Adjust thresholds before the test
Raise the traffic scrubbing thresholds for your ECS instance. For instructions, see Configure traffic scrubbing thresholds.
Run the stress test
Rate limit: We recommend that you do not increase the request volume more than 100 times per minute during the stress test.
