Anti-DDoS Native 1.0 (subscription)
Anti-DDoS Native 1.0 instances use subscription billing. This page covers billable items, bandwidth estimation, overuse policies, and renewal.
Background
Anti-DDoS Native protects your Alibaba Cloud resources against DDoS attacks without requiring changes to your service architecture. It natively integrates to protect multiple assets and ports.
Anti-DDoS Native offers two billing methods: subscription and pay-as-you-go. The pay-as-you-go option supports an Elastic IP Address (EIP) with Anti-DDoS (Enhanced) Enabled and provides terabit-scalable DDoS protection.

Instance |
The unit price of an instance depends on the selected Clean Bandwidth. |
Subscription |
Total fee = [Unit price of the instance + (Number of protected IPs - 100) × Unit price per IP] × Subscription duration |
|
Number of protected IPs |
One IP address: USD 360 per year. To protect IP addresses in multiple regions, purchase a separate instance for each region. |
Estimate your business scale
Estimate your service traffic and select an appropriate clean bandwidth when you purchase an instance.
The system samples bandwidth at 5-minute intervals for both inbound and outbound traffic. For each sample, the higher of the two values is used as the bandwidth for that point. At the end of the month, the system sorts all sample points in descending order, discards the top 5%, and uses the highest remaining value as the billable bandwidth (the 95th percentile).
The billable bandwidth calculation over a 30-day period is shown in the following figure:
Bandwidth overuse
Anti-DDoS Native allows your traffic to temporarily exceed the clean bandwidth of your instance. If total overuse in a month reaches 1, 9, 18, 27, or 36 hours, Alibaba Cloud sends alerts to your specified notification contacts on the morning of the following day (T+1). At 36 hours of overuse, protection for your Anti-DDoS Native instance is disabled, leaving only basic protection. You can view overuse details in Billing Management.
You can restore full protection by using one of the following methods:
-
Method 1: Wait for the next billing cycle, when protection is automatically restored.
-
Method 2: Upgrade the guaranteed clean bandwidth of the Anti-DDoS Native instance. Protection is restored immediately after the upgrade.
-
If you chose Method 2 after you had already exceeded your clean bandwidth for 36 hours, your protection is already disabled. If overuse occurs again in the same month after the upgrade, your protection will be downgraded again on the day after you receive the next alert (T+1).
-
If you chose Method 2 after you had exceeded your clean bandwidth for less than 36 hours, the overuse duration continues to accumulate after the upgrade. If the total duration reaches 36 hours, your protection is downgraded on the day after you receive the alert (T+1).
Overdue payments
Anti-DDoS Native 1.0 uses subscription (prepaid) billing. You pay in advance, so overdue payments do not occur during use. To ensure uninterrupted upgrades and renewals, enable auto-renewal and maintain a sufficient account balance.
