This article mainly introduces how to configure the Alibaba Mail account on the email client that comes with the iPad tablet.
Procedure
1. On the Settings page of the iPad, find Mail and click Account.
2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Add Account > Add Mail Account.
3. In the Add Account page, select Other, enter the email account and password, and then click Next.
4. Fill in the incoming server and the outgoing server. Here we take IMAP server as an example for screenshots.
You must enter a complete email address for the User Name.
POP3 Protocol:
Incoming server: pop.sg.aliyun.com or pop.[$Domain]
Port number: 110 or 995 (encrypted)
[$Domain] is the domain name bound to your email address. If you want to use your own domain name, you must configure the corresponding DNS resolution in advance. Otherwise, the configuration cannot take effect. For more information about how to configure DNS resolution, see Alibaba Mail domain name resolution.
IMAP Protocol:
Incoming server: imap.sg.aliyun.com or imap.[$Domain]
Port number: 143 or 993 (encrypted)
SMTP Protocol:
Outgoing server: smtp.sg.aliyun.com or smtp.[$Domain]
Port number: 25 or 465 (encrypted)
5. Click Next and the account will be verified.
The verification may take a long time or time out due to network quality. Please wait.
5. When the page shows that you need to synchronize Mail or Notes, it proves that the account configuration is successful. Select the option based on the actual situation and click Save. The newly added account can already be seen on the Accounts page.
6. Click on this account-- Account Settings-- Advanced.
7. Check whether the Incoming Settings are correct. After the configuration is complete, you can test sending and receiving function of the account.
It is recommended you use SSL to encrypt the connection, it is more secure. Please pay attention to whether the encryption ports 465, 995 and 993 are open in the network.
