AI DeepSign is an enterprise-grade AIGC security platform that attaches tamper-proof digital identities to AI-generated content. It provides a complete governance loop — automatic provenance establishment, risk control, and traceability — to help organizations verify content authenticity and meet regulatory compliance requirements.

Background

AI-generated content has grown exponentially worldwide, raising concerns about deepfake abuse and synthetic media misuse. Regulations such as the EU AI Act and China's Interim Measures for the Management of Generative AI Services now require clear labeling and source traceability for AI-generated content. Content platforms need standardized solutions for fake content governance, copyright protection, and compliance evidence. The C2PA (Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity) specification has emerged as the de facto industry standard.

Built on the C2PA specification, AI DeepSign provides an end-to-end service for generating, detecting, and verifying AI content. Users interact through natural language conversations — no technical expertise required — and the system attaches traceable digital signatures to every piece of AI-generated content.

Architecture

AI DeepSign uses a three-layer architecture built on Alibaba Cloud's cloud-native capabilities:

  • Access layer: Supports conversational commands and local file uploads, with a built-in multimodal detection engine and an automatic signing module.

  • Analysis layer: Integrates large language models such as Alibaba Cloud PAI, providing an AI forgery feature database and deep semantic analysis capabilities across the full lifecycle of identification, signing, and auditing.

  • Infrastructure layer: Provides a hardware-level trust root for digital signatures, ensuring they remain tamper-proof.

Ingestion, detection, and automatic signing

Generate content using a natural language prompt, or upload a local file to the platform, to trigger the automatic provenance workflow:

  • Seamless ingestion and real-time detection: Automatically performs compliance pre-checks on generated or uploaded content, identifying AI signatures and sensitive information — no plugins or encryption key configuration required.

  • Millisecond-level automatic signing:After detection passes, the system computes and embeds a C2PA-standard digital signature within milliseconds. The signature information—including the algorithm (ES256), issuer, and timestamp—is automatically written into the file metadata, along with an AI-generated label for generated content.

  • Trusted delivery: After signing is complete, the delivered asset carries a "digital ID card" as proof of compliance.

Signature verification and risk assessment

When receiving an image or other file, the system performs multi-layer risk detection:

  • Signature verification: After you upload a file, the system verifies signature integrity. A valid signature confirms that the content has not been tampered with and that the certificate is trusted. Files without a signature or with signs of tampering are flagged as anomalous.

  • Multi-dimensional risk scanning and grading: Simultaneously performs AI generation detection, sensitive information screening, and personal privacy checks, then presents a risk rating.

  • Intelligent recommendations and remediation: Provides handling recommendations based on the risk assessment, such as compliance retro-signing or high-risk content blocking.

Use cases

  • AI policy anti-counterfeiting and fraud prevention: Automatically attach a digital signature during electronic policy underwriting. Enforce signature verification during claims processing to intercept unsigned or tampered documents and trace the generation time and responsible party.

  • AIGC content labeling and copyright registration: Automatically embed a digital signature at the rendering output to prevent unauthorized use or malicious editing. In public disputes, quickly produce a timestamped certificate of originality.

  • Product image copyright enforcement: AI-designed product images automatically receive a digital signature. When counterfeit listings are detected, the platform compares signature differences with one click and initiates a takedown process.
