Hybrid cloud node pools allow you to register computing resources from on-premises data centers or multi-cloud environments as nodes in an ACK managed Pro cluster. You can then manage all resources from a single control plane, reducing the complexity of heterogeneous environments and allowing for elastic resource scheduling to ensure high business availability.
Introduction
The hybrid cloud node pool feature for ACK managed Pro clusters is a whitelist-based feature. To use it, contact your business manager.
Features
Unified resource management: Uniformly register servers from your on-premises data centers or multi-cloud environments in your ACK managed Pro clusters. This provides a consistent experience for deployment, O&M, monitoring, upgrades, and security across your entire infrastructure, significantly reducing the complexity of managing a hybrid environment.
Deep integration with ACK capabilities: Hybrid nodes are deeply integrated with the core capabilities of ACK managed Pro clusters, including auto scaling, observability (monitoring, logging, and tracing), security hardening, storage, and networking. This ensures a consistent technology stack across your cloud and on-premises environments.
High-performance networking: Terway Hybrid Network Plugin provides seamless network connectivity between your cloud and on-premises containers. The solution also supports the NodeLocal DNSCache component, which improves DNS performance and stability while reducing the load on your dedicated line connection.
Elastic capacity scaling: Address the challenges of limited resource inventory in a single region. By integrating your on-premises resource pools, you can elastically extend your cluster's capacity, ensuring service continuity and high availability.

Billing
When using hybrid cloud node pools with an ACK managed Pro cluster, your costs will comprise three parts:
The cluster management fee.
The management fee for hybrid cloud nodes (currently waived during the preview period).
The costs of any associated cloud resources.
Shared responsibility model
The shared responsibilities between Alibaba Cloud and you when using a hybrid cloud node pool are as follows:
Alibaba Cloud's responsibilities:
The security of the managed control plane infrastructure, including computing, storage, networking, and other cloud resources.
For hybrid cloud node pools, Alibaba Cloud provides vulnerability patches and version updates for Kubernetes components.
Your responsibilities:
The network connectivity between your hybrid nodes and the ACK control plane.
The stability and security of the hybrid nodes themselves, including OS-level security patching and version updates.
The security of your deployed applications, and the security configuration and updates of your hybrid nodes.
