When you use an IPv6 gateway, you are charged an instance fee and a public bandwidth fee.

Instance fees

IPv6 gateways support the pay-as-you-go billing method. Alibaba Cloud charges an instance fee for each IPv6 gateway that you use. Fees are calculated on a daily basis.

Instance fee for a pay-as-you-go IPv6 gateway = IPv6 gateway unit price × Usage duration (days)

  • The usage duration refers to the amount of time from when the IPv6 gateway is created to when the IPv6 gateway is released. Fees are calculated and bills are generated on a daily basis. If you use an IPv6 gateway for less than one day, the usage duration is rounded up to one day.

  • After you upgrade or downgrade an IPv6 gateway, Alibaba Cloud charges an instance fee based on the highest specification of the IPv6 gateway within the billing cycle (one day).

  • Alibaba Cloud provides different specifications of IPv6 gateways to meet your business requirements. The following table describes the unit prices of IPv6 gateways of different specifications.
Note If the prices in the following table are different from the prices in the console, the prices in the console shall prevail.

Public bandwidth fees

Alibaba Cloud charges a public bandwidth fee for each IPv6 gateway. The public bandwidth fee is calculated based on two metering methods: pay-by-data-transfer and pay-by-bandwidth. Before you select a metering method, you must understand the peak bandwidth and average bandwidth usage of your service.

Average bandwidth usage:
  • The pay-by-data-transfer metering method is suitable for services with an average bandwidth usage lower than 20%.

  • The pay-by-bandwidth metering method is suitable for services with an average bandwidth usage higher than 35%.

  • If the average bandwidth usage of your service is at a medium level, we recommend that you select a metering method based on previous service data.

Public bandwidth fees (pay-by-bandwidth)

Public bandwidth fee for a pay-by-bandwidth IPv6 gateway = Unit price of bandwidth × Usage duration (days)

  • Fees are charged and bills are generated on a daily basis. If the IPv6 gateway uses the bandwidth for less than one day, the usage duration is rounded up to one day.

  • You can change the bandwidth limit of the IPv6 gateway anytime to meet your business requirements. After you change the bandwidth limit of an IPv6 gateway, Alibaba Cloud charges a public bandwidth fee based on the highest bandwidth limit value within the billing cycle (one day).

  • Public bandwidth fees are charged based on a tiered pricing model with 5 Mbit/s as the standard bandwidth value.
Note If the prices in the following table are different from the prices in the console, the prices in the console shall prevail.
    Region 1 to 5 Mbit/s (USD/day) 5 Mbit/s and above (USD/day)

    • 1 Mbit/s: 0.14
    • 2 Mbit/s: 0.28
    • 3 Mbit/s: 0.43
    • 4 Mbit/s: 0.57
    • 5 Mbit/s: 0.71
Note N represents the bandwidth limit value.

    0.71+(N-5)*0.5

Note N represents the bandwidth limit value.

Public bandwidth fees (pay-by-data-transfer)

Public bandwidth fee for a pay-by-data-transfer IPv6 gateway = Hourly unit price of data transfer × Data transfer

  • Fees are calculated and bills are generated on an hourly basis. If an IPv6 gateway transfers data for less than 1 hour, the usage duration is rounded up to 1 hour.

  • Outbound data transfer refers to the amount of data that flows from Alibaba Cloud to data centers. Inbound data transfer refers to the amount of data that flows from data centers to Alibaba Cloud. Inbound data transfer is not billed.

  • Different bandwidth limits are billed at the same unit price of data transfer. However, we recommend that you set bandwidth limits properly to avoid unexpected data usage caused by system errors or malicious requests.

  • The following table describes the unit prices of data transfer in different regions.
Note If the prices in the following table are different from the prices in the console, the prices in the console shall prevail.
