You can delete IPv6 addresses that you no longer need. After you delete the IPv6 address of an Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instance, the instance can still use its IPv4 address. This topic describes how to delete an IPv6 address in the ECS console.
Prerequisites
The instance whose IPv6 address you want to delete is in the Running or Stopped state.
Procedure
Log on to the ECS console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
In the top navigation bar, select the region and resource group to which the resource belongs.
On the Instance page, find the instance that you want to manage. In the Actions column, choose
.In the Manage Secondary Private IP Addresses dialog box, click Unassign next to the IPv6 address that you want to delete.
Click OK.
References
If you want to unassign one or more IPv6 addresses from an elastic network interface (ENI), call the UnassignIpv6Addresses operation.
After you delete a secondary private IP address, you may need to reconfigure security group rules for the associated ECS instance. For more information, see Modify a security group rule.
You can configure event notifications in EventBridge or CloudMonitor to receive notifications about IP address events. After you delete an IPv6 address from an instance, you are notified about the deletion by emails or DingTalk chatbots. You can obtain information about the IPv6 address deletion, such as the deleted IPv6 address and the associated ENI ID, and specify the operations that you want to be automatically performed in response to the notification. For more information, see Configure event notifications, ECS events, and the Notifications for private IPv6 address reclamation events section in the "IP address event notifications" topic.
