In a production studio, you can use the audio mixer to manage the audio of the produced live streams in program mode. For example, you can adjust the volume and gain of the audio on the audience side and adjust the volume in the current production studio. This topic describes how to use the audio mixer.
- You can only preview a layout without sound in the PVW area. If you select Audio Follows Video and click Switch to PGM, a live stream is produced from the layout and ingested to the audience side with sound. Video sources not in the layout are muted by default, but you can play the audio of these video sources as needed.
- If you click Switch to PGM without selecting Audio Follows Video, a live stream is produced and ingested to the audience side without sound.
Note In this case, the image is switched to that of the layout but the audio remains unchanged on the audience side. For example, you can display the image of different cameras with the main audio in an event.

When you switch a layout from the preview mode to the program mode, the videos in the layout are played with their original volumes. For example, six video sources are added to a production studio.
