This topic describes how to use a block gateway to create a file system and synchronize the cached data to an iSCSI volume.

  • Linux environment

If you have created a local file system, such as XFS or Ext4, on an iSCSI volume, you can run the sync command to synchronize data to the iSCSI volume. When you manually unmount the file system, the file system also synchronizes the cached data to the iSCSI volume.

  • Windows environment

If you have created an NTFS local file system on an iSCSI volume, you can use the sync.exe or sync64.exe process provided by the Sysinternals utilities to synchronize cached data to the iSCSI volume.

    Download Sync v2.2.
