Alarm rules

DBS provides alarm notifications and sends backup and recovery results through CloudMonitor.

Trigger conditions

Alarms are triggered when:

  • An error occurred while performing a full backup.
  • An error occurred while performing an incremental backup.
  • An error occurred while performing a data recovery.
  • A data recovery has been successful.

Alarm schedule

  • 00:00:00 ~ 09:00:00: Alarms are delayed.
  • Other time periods: Alarms are sent out immediately.

Alarm contacts

The default alarm contact is your Alibaba Cloud account alarm contact. For more information about modifying alarm contacts, see Modify alarm rules below.

Alarm notification methods

The notification methods include SMS message, email, Ali WangWang, and DingTalk robot. For more information about modifying notification methods, see Modify alarm rules below.

Enable alarm notification

  • For users who have not enabled the default DBS alarm rule, when you log on to the DBS console, a dialog box about setting up the default alarm rule appears. You need to click OK so that the system automatically creates the default alarm rule.
  • The default DBS alarm rule is named DBS_EVENT_RULE.

Modify alarm rules

To modify alarm contacts or notification methods, you can go to CloudMonitor>Event Monitoring, click Alarm Rules, find DBS_EVENT_RULE, and click Modify.

Disable alarm notification

To temporarily disable alarm notifications, you can go to CloudMonitor>Event Monitoring, click Alarm Rules, find DBS_EVENT_RULE, and click Disable.

View alarm history

To view alarm history, you can go to CloudMonitor>Event Monitoring , click Query Event, select System Event>DBS, and click Search.
