DBS offers features such as full backup, incremental backup, and data recovery. You need to buy and configure a backup plan to use these features. This section describes how to determine the number of DBS instances (backup plans) based on your needs.
One backup plan supports backing up one database instance. You can choose to backup the entire database instance, single or multiple databases, and single or multiple tables.
Backing up multiple database instances requires multiple backup plans.
For example, user A has two database instances deployed in a on-premise data center, two RDS instances, and four ECS instances. This user also has two database instances deployed on ECS instances, and one database instance on a third-party cloud. In total, this user needs to buy seven backup plans: two for the databases in the data center, two for the RDS instances, two for the databases on the ECS instances, and one for the database on the third-party cloud.
