Refresh and push

Last Updated: Jul 09, 2019

Feature description

This feature actively stores files and directories corresponding to CDN-accelerated domain names to edge nodes for better playback experience.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the ApsaraVideo for VOD console. In the left-side navigation pane, click Refresh and Push.Refresh and Push

Note: You can manually enter refresh and push URLs or drag TXT files to the URL input box. Each URL occupies a row.

  1. Refresh files by URL.

Principle: This task forces an edge node to pull the latest file from the origin based on the provided file URL.

Task effective period: 5 to 10 minutes.

    Note:

    • The entered URL must contain http:// or https://.
    • A total number of 2,000 URLs can be refreshed and pushed by the same ID every day.
  2. Refresh files by directory.

Principle: This task forces an edge node to pull the latest file from the origin based on the provided directory.

Task effective period: 5 to 10 minutes.

    Note:

    • Up to 100 refresh requests can be submitted per day.
    • The entered content must start with http:// or https:// and end with /.
  3. Push URLs.

Principle: This task actively pushes the specified content to a CDN L2 node. Users’ initial requests then can match the content cached on the node to reduce the workload of the origin.

Task effective period: 5 to 10 minutes.

    Note:

    • The entered URL must contain http:// or https://.
    • A total number of 500 URLs can be pushed by the same ID every day.
    • The resource push duration depends on the number and size of the files to push, the origin bandwidth, and the network condition.
  4. View the progress.

After a refresh and push request is submitted, you can view the current progress and operation history in the Progress column on the Records tab.Operation records
