ApsaraVideo VOD:Online editing

The online editing feature of ApsaraVideo VOD allows you to edit materials such as audio files, video files, and text files online and produce new videos. This topic describes how to use the online editing feature.

Prerequisites

  • The materials that you want to use are uploaded to the media asset library. For more information, see Upload media files by using the ApsaraVideo VOD console.

  • The VOD bucket is allocated to you by the system. You can store videos that you produce by using the online editing feature in the VOD bucket. For more information, see Manage storage buckets.

  • A transcoding template is configured if you want to transcode the videos that you produce. For more information, see Manage transcoding.

Basic editing

Description

Split and merge video clips in a track

You can split and merge video clips in a track. For example, you can split a video and retain the start part, end part, or middle part, and merge clips.

Add text or images to a track

You can add banner text, images, static watermarks, or animated watermarks to a single video track. In addition, you can add such content to the entire video track, to specified areas of the video track, or in specified intervals along the timeline of the video track.

Blur specified parts of a video

You can blur specified parts of a video.

Crop a video or add black bars to the video

You can crop the video or add black bars to the video.

Extract audio and mute or adjust the volume of the audio

You can extract audio from a video and mute or adjust the volume of the audio. You can mute or adjust the volume of the entire video or specified parts of the video.

Split and merge audio clips in a track

You can split and merge multiple audio clips in a track.

Mute or adjust the volume of an audio clip

You can mute or adjust the volume of the entire audio or specified parts of the audio clip.

Add an independent subtitle file

You can add an independent subtitle file to a video. Subtitle files in the ASS and SRT formats are supported.

Description

Mix multiple audio or video clips

If multiple audio or video tracks exist, you can mix audio clips, overlay video images, and change the audio of video clips. This capability is generally used in scenarios such as dubbing and picture-in-picture (PiP).

Edit images and videos in the same track

You can edit images and videos in the same track.

Convert images into a video

You can upload multiple images and convert them into a video.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the ApsaraVideo VOD console.

  2. In the upper-left corner, select a region based on your business requirements.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Production Center > Video Editing.

  4. On the page that appears, click Edit New Video to enter the video editing window. You can also find the video that you want to resume editing and click Resume Editing in the Actions column.

  5. Upload materials.

    In the upper-right corner of the materials area, click Add from Media Asset Library. In the Add Media File panel, upload the materials that you want to use.

    If the material that you want to use is not in the media asset library, upload the material to the media asset library. For more information, see Upload media files by using the ApsaraVideo VOD console.

  6. Add materials to the editing area.

    Click the 006 icon on the material to add it to the editing area. You can also drag the material to a track in the editing area.

    You can add system resources such as stickers, filters, and special effects to different tracks and preview the outcome in real time.

  7. Edit materials.

    • Crop, preview, or modify the properties of materials

      Click the material that you want to manage in the editing area and use the tools in the upper-left corner of the editing area to edit the material. For example, you can crop or delete the material. You can also preview, drag, zoom in or zoom out, and move the material in the preview area, and modify the properties of the material in the property area.

    • Add transition effects

      Select a video or an image to which you want to add a transition effect in the editing area and click the Transitions tab in the materials area. Select a transition effect such as the whirlpool effect and preview the transition effect in the preview area.

    • Display the audio wave of a video

      Select a video in the editing area, click the 01503 icon in the upper-left corner of the area, and select the type of the audio wave that you want to display. Then, the audio wave is displayed below the video track.

    • Separate the audio track from a video

      Select a video in the editing area and click Separate audio track on the Basic tab in the property area. Then, the audio track is automatically loaded into the track in the editing area.

  8. Click Save in the upper-right corner to save the editing project.

    You can also click Generate in the upper-right corner and configure the production parameters to export the produced video to the media asset library.
