This topic describes how to enable and disable auto-renewal for an ApsaraDB for MongoDB subscription instance. Auto-renewal saves you the tedious work of manually renewing your ApsaraDB for MongoDB subscription instance on a regular basis and helps ensure service continuity. You can also disable auto-renewal if needed.

Precautions

  • If you enable auto-renewal, the system first attempts to deduct fees from your Alibaba Cloud account at 08:00:00 on the ninth day before your instance expires. If the first deduction fails, the system will attempt to deduct fees again once a day for the next two days. Make sure that you have sufficient balance within your Alibaba Cloud account. Otherwise, the renewal fails.
Note If all three of these attempts fail, you must manually renew your instance before the expiration date to prevent service interruptions and data loss.
  • If you manually renew your instance before an automatic deduction can be applied, no automatic deduction will be attempted until close to the next expiration date.
  • After you enable auto-renewal, the configuration takes effect the next day. If your instance subscription is to expire the next day, renew it manually to avoid service interruptions. For more information, see Manually renew an ApsaraDB for MongoDB subscription instance.

Method 1: Enable auto-renewal when you create the instance

Note If you select auto-renewal when you purchase an instance, the system automatically renews the instance based on the specified renewal cycle. The renewal cycle is one month or one year. For example, if you select auto-renewal when you purchase an instance with a six-month subscription, the system automatically renews the instance with a one-month subscription each time the instance is due to expire.

When you create a subscription instance, you can specify a subscription duration and then select Auto-renewal for the instance. The system automatically deducts fees from your Alibaba Cloud account when the instance expiration date approaches.

Method 2: Enable auto-renewal for a running instance

Note When auto-renewal is enabled for an instance, the system renews the service based on the specified auto-renewal cycle. For example, if the auto-renewal cycle is set to three months, a fee for three-month subscription is collected each time the instance is automatically renewed.
