Overview

This topic describes how to handle the issue of slow access to services protected by an Anti-DDoS Pro or Anti-DDoS Premium instance.

Problem description

When you access services protected by an Anti-DDoS Pro or Anti-DDoS Premium instance, it takes 8 seconds. By contrast, it takes 1 second to access services not protected an Anti-DDoS Pro or Anti-DDoS Premium instance.

Cause and solution

  • If you use Google Chrome to access services, you can open its Chrome DevTools to locate the cause. After 7 to 10 seconds, other resources of the services are loaded.
  • If you capture and analyze network packets by using the IP address of the Anti-DDoS Pro or Anti-DDoS Premium instance, you can find that the system tries to connect port 843 before it connects to port 8000. This process takes about 8 seconds.
Note If ports 843 and 8000 are used but a forwarding rule is not configured for port 843, slow access occurs.
  • After a forwarding rule is configured for port 843 in the Anti-DDoS Pro or Anti-DDoS Premium console, service access becomes normal.
