This topic describes how to renew the Basic Anti-Virus, Advanced, or Enterprise edition of Security Center before it expires. You can renew the subscription within seven days after the expiration date to retain the current configurations and statistics.

Prerequisites

Before you renew the subscription, make sure that the total number of the protected servers is not greater than the number of Protected Assets that was specified when you purchased Security Center.

Note If the number of the protected servers is greater than the number of Protected Assets, the Renew button is dimmed and cannot be clicked. In this case, you must upgrade the specification of Security Center to increase the quota. For more information, see Upgrade and downgrade.

Expiration

Seven days before the Basic Anti-Virus, Advanced, or Enterprise edition expires, Security Center sends you a message that reminds you to renew the subscription. If you do not renew the subscription before the service expires, your assets are no longer protected by Security Center after the expiration date.

Security Center retains all the configurations and statistics for seven days after the expiration date. The retained configurations and statistics include the asset groups, tags, quarantined files, vulnerability whitelists, and baseline check policies. If you renew the subscription within seven days after the expiration date, you can continue using the current configurations and statistics.

If you do not renew the subscription within seven days after the expiration date, the Basic Anti-Virus, Advanced, or Enterprise edition is downgraded to the Basic edition. In this case, you can no longer view the current configurations or statistics such as DDoS alerts. You must purchase another subscription of the Basic Anti-Virus, Advanced, or Enterprise edition to continue using relevant features. For more information, see Purchase Security Center.

Note The Basic Anti-Virus, Advanced, and Enterprise editions of Security Center are billed on a subscription basis. Therefore, no overdue payments are incurred when you use the service.
