Big Data Application Consulting Service

1.       Service Scope

Party B’s services in the Project consist of the following:

  • Based on the current situation and business expectation of Party A’s big data system, Party B shall implement product selection, architecture design, and deployment planning of the big data platform through survey, analysis, and evaluation of a professional team, and provide the consulting service for construction of the big data system based on the Alibaba Cloud;
  • Based on Party A’s inventory and incremental data and analysis of the professional team, Party B shall complete the evaluation of migrating inventory and incremental data to the cloud and implement the inventory data migration solution based on the Alibaba Cloud;
  • Party B neither develops applications for the system to be migrated, or provides specific application and database transformation designs. However, Party B shall provide suggestions, technical guidance, and solutions for problems that occur in the cloud migration process, and help Party A resolve such problems, so that cloud migration can be smoothly implemented.

Party B’s services in this Project DO NOT include the following:

  • Application transformation, application design, and database logical structure design;
  • Migration of application systems not explicitly included “in the scope” of migration;
  • Migration of data not explicitly included “in the scope” of migration;
  • Design and construction of the cloud platform infrastructure and environment;
  • Communication infrastructure and components required for implementation;
  • Installation or configuration of electrical, electronic communication, and cabling infrastructures and components, and the provision of related support;
  • Installation or configuration of non-IT equipment and desktop equipment, such as office furniture, printers, air conditioners, UPSs, and tapes.

2.       Prerequisites

  • If this Project is implemented on the premises of Party A, upon start of the project, Party A shall provide the necessary office facilities, including desks and chairs, restroom facilities, mains power supply and outlets, and network cables. Party A shall ensure the personal safety of Party B’s personnel. The office environment provided by Party A shall be free of harmful gases, liquids, or solids. Outdoor environments provided shall be protected against inclement weather;
  • All work records and documents of the Project shall be in Chinese, and shall be provided as required by Party A. The electronic files shall be submitted in Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, or Microsoft Project format;
  • During the Project, Party A and Party B shall communicate with each other in a manner agreed upon by both parties. Optional communication methods include Internet, fax, email, or written communication;
  • Both parties have signed the site arrival report for the on-site service, and confirmed the service start time and end time.

 

3.       Service Content

3.1   Big Data Application Cloudification Architecture Design

Party B’s expert team shall obtain the current situation and business objectives of Party A’s big data system by means of surveys, interviews, and automated tools; analyze and evaluate the data to obtain the data processing flow, big data technical framework, and big data application architecture; based on the characteristics of the Alibaba Cloud’s big data products and the best practices, design the big data application cloudification architecture that matches the current situation and business objectives of Party A’s big data system; plan and design the cloud products that meet the development expectations of Party A’s business, such as the ECS, storage, network, bandwidth, analysis, and mining products, so that Party A can quickly build big data applications by using Alibaba Cloud’s big data products.

With the big data application cloudification architecture design, Party A shall obtain the actual architecture and solution featuring highly elastic computing and big data processing, and be capable of quickly building high-performance big data applications.

3.2   Big Data Application Migration Design

Big data application migration: If the customer has already built an offline big data system, Party B’s expert team shall analyze the current situation of each business system, data processing flow, big data technical framework, and upstream/downstream dependency based on the survey and analysis of the existing big data system; sort out the characteristics, capacity, application framework, and deployment architecture of Party A’s big data system; evaluate the technical feasibility, costs, and implementation complexity of migrating the existing data to the cloud, design the solutions and implementation plans for migrating the offline big data system and data to the on-cloud big data platform; complete the core risk evaluation and key technical verification; and design and select appropriate data migration policies (such as the VPN and Lightning Cube) to meet Party A’s requirements for secure migration of big data applications and smooth cutover.

Big data ETL design: Based on the requirement survey and analysis based on data models and data sources, Party B’s expert team shall sort out the characteristics, constraints, capacity, channels, and product mode of Party A’s related business data; design the extraction, conversion, cleansing, and loading processes that conform to the characteristics of data; design and select appropriate data ETL products or solutions; and design the daily, initial, and historical data loading solutions and data test, online, and cutover solutions to meet Party A’s requirements for integrating big data applications with Party A’s own or purchased structured data sources. With the data ETL design, Party A’s big data applications shall be capable of integrating multiple types of data sources.

3.3   Data Model and Data Warehouse Designs

Data model and data warehouse designs: Party B’s expert team shall obtain the current situation and business objectives of Party A’s business system and big data system by means of surveys, interviews, and automated tools; based on the features and best practices of Alibaba Cloud big data products, analyze and evaluate the current status and quality of Party A’s information and data; design data models that conform to the current situations of Party A’s business system and big data system and meet Party’s expectations; select appropriate cloud products to design the data warehouse, offline computing, and stream computing solutions; design the data warehouse system structure, software and hardware configurations, capacity planning, performance indicators, BI toolkit application architecture, and development and production environment; plan the application scenarios and computing power of offline computing and stream computing; and plan and design the logical and physical models of the data warehouse to meet Party A’s requirement for building flexible data models and ultra-large-scale data warehouses by using Alibaba Cloud’s big data products. With the data model and data warehouse designs, Party A shall obtain the data model and data warehouse solutions that match the current situation and objectives of Party A’s business.

Data quality and data control designs: Based on the survey and analysis of data models, data sources, and data warehouses, Party B’s expert team shall sort out the characteristics, constraints, capacity, channels, and production mode of Party A’s business data; clarify the data quality requirements of the data warehouse, offline computing, and stream computing; design the test, correction, pre-warning, and feedback standards, policies, and measures that meet the data quality requirements; and design the I/O process that meets the data quality standards and control requirements to meet Party A’s requirements for obtaining and managing high-quality data by using Alibaba Cloud’s big data products. With the data quality and data control designs, Party A shall obtain the technical capability and solutions for managing and ensuring data quality.

3.4   Big Data Collection Design

Based on the requirement survey and analysis of data models and data sources, Party B’s expert team shall sort out the Internet data requirements of Party A’s big data applications; collect and select the Internet data sources that meet Party A’s requirements; design and select appropriate data collection tools; design and select big data cloud products (such as natural language processing) that conform to the data processing logic; and design data collection policies that meet the data acquisition requirements so that Party A’s big data applications can obtain the required Internet unstructured data.

With the big data collection design, Party A’s big data applications shall be capable of integrating Internet unstructured data.

3.5   Big Data Presentation Design

Based on the requirement survey and analysis of data models and data sources, Party B’s expert team shall sort out the presentation requirements of Party A’s big data applications, and design and select appropriate data presentation cloud products so that Party A’s big data applications can present the analysis and mining results in various channels, including but not limited to PCs, mobile phones, and big screens.

With the big data presentation design, Party A’s big data applications shall be capable of presenting the analysis and mining results in various channels.

3.6   Big Data Algorithm Design

Based on the requirement survey and analysis of data models and data sources, Party B’s expert team shall sort out Party A’s big data algorithm requirements, design the big data algorithms that meet business expectations, and verify the key points of the algorithms so that Party A’s big data algorithms can realize business values.

l   Both parties negotiate with each other to determine the stakeholders and contact persons of the project, clarify the consulting principle, method, and process, and confirm the business requirements and objectives of each business department.

l   Prepare and hold the project kickoff report.

Party B submits the “XXXX Project Kickoff Meeting Report”, Party A is responsible for holding the project kickoff meeting, and both parties reach an agreement on the content discussed on the meeting.

Confirm the consulting plan.

Based on the business objective and consulting methods, develop and sort out the consulting plan and implementation solution.

Party B submits the “XXXX Project Big Data Consulting Plan” and both parties agree on the plan content.

Collect the system information.

Collect information about the current situation of Party A’s business system and big data system, and evaluate the gaps between the current situation and business objectives.

 

Party B submits the “XXXX Project Big Data Current Situation Analysis Report” and both parties agree on the report content.

Design the big data solution.

l   Design the big data solutions that meet Party A’s business objectives, including the construction, operation, and control solutions.

Submit the “XXXX Project Big Data Consulting Report” and both parties agree on the report content.

 

Service acceptance

l   Sort out and deliver project documents.

l   Prepare the project acceptance report.

Party B submits the “XXXX Project Acceptance Report” and Party A signs the report.

5.       Project Milestones

The Project has five major milestones:

  • Project kickoff meeting: Alibaba Cloud submits the “Project Kickoff Meeting Report” and the customer is responsible for holding the project kickoff meeting. Both parties reach an agreement regarding the project’s main content, implementation methods, and objectives.
  • Project plan report: Alibaba Cloud submits the “Project Consulting Plan” and both parties reach an agreement regarding the Project’s implementation content, processes, steps, and plans.
  • System current situation report: Alibaba Cloud submits the “Big Data Survey Report”. Both parties reach an agreement regarding the content of the survey report, and confirm that the scope, architecture, specifications, and management of the business system specified in the survey report are consistent with the current situation of the system.
  • Consulting report: Alibaba Cloud submits the “Big Data Consulting Report”. Both parties reach an agreement regarding the content of the consulting report, and confirm that the production selection, architecture, and migration solutions specified in the consulting report are consistent with expectations.
  • Project acceptance: After Alibaba Cloud submits the “Project Acceptance Report”, the customer shall confirm the content in the report within five working days and sign their acceptance comments.

[NOTE] The project start time shall be subject to the time for signing the “XXXX Big Data Application Consulting Service Project Contract”.

6.       Customer Responsibilities

  • The customer shall assign a project owner to help Alibaba Cloud smoothly provide the consulting service. The project owner shall be responsible for coordination between the two parties, management of related issues, and review and acceptance of Alibaba Cloud services;
  • The customer must provide the information about big data applications, including, but not limited to, technology stacks, big data tool software, application architectures, deployment architectures, data volumes, and performance;
  • During the process that Alibaba Cloud provides the consulting service, if the documents provided by Party A involves third-party software, the customer shall negotiate with the third-party vendor and provide the relevant information for Alibaba Cloud.

 

7.       Acceptance Criteria

Project acceptance can start after the following acceptance criteria are met:

  • After these project reports are submitted, Party A shall confirm the solution within five working days. If no objection is raised, both parties shall sign the “Project Acceptance Report”;
  • Signing of the “Project Acceptance Report” is deemed as completion of project acceptance.

8.       Mark of Completion

The Big Data Application Consulting Service is complete after project acceptance is finished and both parties sign the “Project Acceptance Report”.
