ApsaraDB RDS:Use DMS to import a logical backup file into an ApsaraDB RDS instance

This topic describes how to use Data Management (DMS) to import a database backup file into an ApsaraDB RDS instance for backup restoration or data migration.

Procedure

This section provides an example on how to use DMS to import a database backup file into an ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL instance.

Step 1: Download a backup file

Download the backup file of an RDS instance. For more information, see Download backup files.

Note
  • The data import feature of DMS allows you to import SQL or CSV files into an RDS instance. You must download the backup file in the required format.

  • If you want to download the most recent backup file, you can perform a manual backup and download the backup file. For more information, see Perform a manual backup.

Step 2: Use DMS to import the backup file

Use the data import feature of DMS to import the SQL or CSV file into the RDS instance. For more information, see Import data.
