This topic describes why the Dynamic Content Delivery Network (DCDN) service is suspended and how to enable low balance alerts.

Service suspension

Note If you have an overdue payment, the system sends you a notification. In this case, we recommend that you complete your overdue payment at the earliest opportunity to prevent service suspension.
  • Overdue payment alerts

When a payment becomes overdue, the system notifies you by text messages or emails.

  • Service suspension
    • If you complete the payment within 15 days after the payment becomes overdue, DCDN is not suspended. If you do not complete the payment within 15 days after the payment becomes overdue, DCDN is suspended.
    • After DCDN is suspended, the accelerated domain names are disabled, and the status of the accelerated domain names changes to Offline. The CNAMEs of the accelerated domain names are resolved to the invalid address offline.***.com. As a result, the accelerated domain names become inaccessible.
Note For more information, see Rules for disabling accelerated domain names.
    • After DCDN is suspended, the resources that are cached on the DCDN points of presence (POPs) are released, and the configurations of the accelerated domain names are retained for one month.
  • Payment completion and service restoration

You can check your overdue payments in Expenses and top up your account balance to complete the payments. After overdue payments are completed, domain names that are in the Offline state due to overdue payments are automatically enabled. DCDN is automatically restored for the domain names.

Low balance alerts

Low balance alerts are sent to you in the following scenarios:
  • Pay-by-data-transfer: The system determines whether you have a sufficient balance in your Alibaba Cloud account to pay for the next three billing cycles based on the average payable amount of the last 7 hours. If you do not have a sufficient balance in your Alibaba Cloud account, the system notifies you by text messages or emails.
  • Pay-by-bandwidth: The system determines whether you have a sufficient balance in your Alibaba Cloud account to pay for the next billing cycle (day) based on the payable amount of the most recent billing cycle (day). If you do not have a sufficient balance in your Alibaba Cloud account, the system notifies you by text messages or emails.
