When you connect to an apsaradb for RDS instance using DMS, the system prompts "unable to log on to the database due to whitelist problems"

Problem description

The connection to the apsaradb for RDS Database fails through DMS and the following error is displayed:

Cause

The IP address ranges of the DMS service are not added to the whitelist of the RDS instance.

Solution

If you click set all instances or set this instance in the error message, the setting takes effect in 5 minutes. If you do not take effect after 30 minutes, refer to the following solutions.

  1. Check the whitelist of the apsaradb for RDS instance to detect the IP segments indicated by errors.
  2. If you do not need to add the IP address of your device to the whitelist, you can set a whitelist for the device. For more information, see.
