Unbind and release an EIP address

Last Updated: Nov 22, 2017

You can unbind and release an EIP address. You must unbind an EIP address before releasing it.

Note: You still need to pay the EIP address retention fee after you unbind an EIP address. You can further release the EIP address to avoid unnecessary cost.

  1. Log on to the EIP console.

  2. Choose a region. All Elastic IP addresses under the selected region are displayed.

  3. Click Unbind in the Actions column of the target EIP address. Then click OK in the displayed dialog box.

  4. After the EIP address is unbound, click More > Release, and click OK in the displayed dialog box.
