HiTSDB instances support data writing, query, and other operations over HTTP.

HiTSDB provides an HTTP-based application programming API for convenient integration with external systems. You can call APIs to access almost all HiTSDB features, for example, querying the time series data, managing the metadata, and storing the data point. The HTTP APIs of HiTSDB are of RESTful type in nature. Besides, a substitution access policy is provided. Therefore, not all the clients must follow the REST protocol strictly. JSON is used for data exchange by default. The standard HTTP response code is used for returned results, and the error message is returned in specific format.
