Why is the payment information required?
Alibaba Cloud needs to authenticate your identity. Therefore, you are required to add the payment information when you sign up with Alibaba Cloud. You can select the payment method from the options like Credit Card or PayPal as per your choice and convenience.
Why do I see two charges to my account?
As a part of authorization process, Alibaba Cloud debits USD 1 from your credit card. The authorization hold verifies that your credit card details are valid and you do not have a zero balance in your account. The charge will be refunded back to your account within 24 hours.
I am experiencing problems while completing registration using PayPal as my payment method. What can I do?
Firstly, check whether your PayPal account is verified and is bound with your bank or credit card. If your PayPal account is not verified, there is a strong chance that you cannot use your PayPal account as your Alibaba Cloud payment method. Alibaba Cloud does not support adding a PayPal China account as a payment method.
