Because of the RDS data security restrictions, you must add the IP address of the computer to run data synchronization tasks to the RDS whitelist before connecting DataWorks (formerly the Data IDE) data synchronization tasks with RDS databases. For more information, see IP Whitelist or go to the entry to view IP on the data source configuration page.
Log on to the DataWorks console as a developer and click Enter Workplace in the Actions column of the relevant project.
Click Data Integration from the upper menu and navigate to the Data Source page.
Click New Data Source.
In the data source creation dialog box, select RDS > MySQL as the data source type.
Select to configure the MySQL data source in the form of an RDS instance.
Click Test Connectivity.
When the connectivity test is passed, click OK.
In this example, the region of the RDS instance is South China 1 and the network type is VPC, and synchronizing data through DataWorks actually transfers data on the VPC across regions.
Data Integration of DataWorks makes sure network interconnectivity for the RDS by detecting devices automatically through the reverse proxy and also guarantees network connectivity for data synchronization without special processing.
