After you create a disk, you can change its billing method between subscription and pay-as-you-go. This topic describes the methods to change billing methods, as well as the application scope and effective time of each method.

Background information

The billing methods of disks are related to how the disks are created:

  • If a disk is created together with a subscription instance or is a subscription disk that is created separately on the Disks page, you must pay for the disk before you can use it. For more information, see Subscription.
Note Subscription disks can be created separately but must be attached to subscription instances before you use the disks.
  • If a disk is created together with a pay-as-you-go instance or is a pay-as-you-go disk that is created separately on the Disks page, the billing method of the disk is pay-as-you-go. For more information, see Pay-as-you-go.
