Elastic High Performance Computing:Release a cluster

Last Updated:May 19, 2023

If you no longer use an Elastic High Performance Computing (E-HPC) cluster, you can release it to save cost. This topic describes how to release a cluster.

Prerequisites

The cluster data is backed up.

Warning

Released clusters cannot be recovered. Exercise caution when you release a cluster.

Background information

After a cluster is released, the pay-as-you-go nodes and the subscription nodes that have expired are automatically released. The subscription nodes that have not expired are retained. If you need to release the subscription nodes that have not expired, change their billing method to pay-as-you-go. For more information, see Change the billing method of an instance from subscription to pay-as-you-go.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the E-HPC console.

  2. In the top navigation bar, select a region.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, click Cluster.

  4. On the Cluster page, find the cluster that you want to release. Choose More > Release.

  5. In the Release Cluster dialog box, click OK.

The cluster enters the Released state. After the cluster is released, it disappears from the Cluster page.
