Elastic High Performance Computing:Manage a queue

Last Updated:May 19, 2023

Elastic High Performance Computing (E-HPC) allows you to add compute nodes to queues. Queues are a convenient method you can use to categorize compute nodes that run different jobs or perform different tasks. Queues also function as a filter condition for you to quickly locate desired nodes. This topic describes how to create a queue, add compute nodes to a queue, and delete a queue in the E-HPC console.

Create a queue

  1. Log on to the E-HPC console.

  2. In the top navigation bar, select a region.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Resource Management > Nodes.

  4. Select a cluster from the Cluster drop-down list.

  5. Select Compute Node from the Node Type drop-down list.

  6. In the Node List section, click New Queue.

  7. In the New Queue panel, specify a queue name. Click OK.

Move compute nodes from a queue to another queue

  1. On the Nodes page, select a cluster from the Cluster drop-down list.

  2. Select Compute Node from the Node Type drop-down list.

  3. In the Node List section, select the compute node that you want to move. Click Move To.

  4. In the Move To panel, select the destination queue. Click OK.

Delete a queue

  1. On the Nodes page, select a cluster from the Cluster drop-down list.

  2. Select Compute Node from the Node Type drop-down list.

  3. In the Node List section, select the queue that you want to delete. Click Delete Queue.

  4. In the Delete Queue dialog box, click OK.

    Note

    • The default queue of a cluster cannot be deleted.

    • If a queue belongs to a cluster that uses a scheduler, it cannot be deleted when it contains nodes.
