Configure a maintenance window for an ApsaraDB for Redis instance - ApsaraDB for Redis

To minimize the impact of O&M operations on your business, you can set Maintenance Window to a period of off-peak hours, such as between 02:00 and 04:00. During this period, you can perform maintenance operations such as configuration changes, version upgrades, and restarts on your ApsaraDB for Redis instance.

Background information

Alibaba Cloud maintains ApsaraDB for Redis instances and servers from time to time to ensure that they run stably. To ensure that the maintenance is successful, instances enter the Maintaining Instance state before the maintenance window runs on the day of maintenance. When an instance is in this state, you can still access and query data in the database. For example, you can query performance monitoring data. However, you are temporarily not allowed to make instance changes in the console. For example, you cannot change the configurations of the instance.
Note
Before the maintenance window starts, the system sends text messages and emails to the contacts that are associated with your Alibaba Cloud account.
Instances may temporarily disconnect when you make changes to the instances. For example, an instance is disconnected when you change the configurations of the instance. To minimize the impacts on your business, we recommend that you perform these operations during the maintenance window.
Warning
After the maintenance window starts, transient connections may occur on the instance. We recommend that you set the maintenance window to off-peak hours.

Procedure

Log on to the ApsaraDB for Redis console and go to the Instances page. In the top navigation bar, select the region in which the instance that you want to manage resides. Then, find the instance and click the instance ID.
In the Basic Information section, click Modify to the right of Maintenance Window.
Select a time range that is suitable for your business.

The time displayed in the console is in the same time zone as your computer.
