ApsaraVideo VOD:Overdue payments

Last Updated:Nov 01, 2023

This topic describes the causes of overdue payments and how to view and handle overdue payments.

Causes

Payments for your ApsaraVideo VOD service become overdue in the following scenarios:

  • You did not purchase resource plans and your account balance is insufficient when you use ApsaraVideo VOD.

  • You purchased resource plans that do not have sufficient quota for your resource usage or your resource plans do not apply to the resources that you consumed and you do not have sufficient balance to pay the resource bill.

Handle overdue payments

Warning

When a payment becomes overdue, the system notifies you of overdue payments. We recommend that you top up your account at the earliest opportunity to ensure service continuity. If you do not top up your account in time, your ApsaraVideo VOD service is stopped, the bucket that is allocated to you is reclaimed, and all data in the bucket is cleared and cannot be recovered.

Overdue payment alerts

When a payment becomes overdue, the system notifies you of overdue payments by text messages or emails.

End of service

If your ApsaraVideo VOD bill is overdue for more than 15 days, ApsaraVideo VOD is stopped. In this case, you cannot use the features provided by ApsaraVideo VOD. For example, the accelerated domain names that you configured are disabled, video upload and playback are unavailable, and the access control list (ACL) of the VOD bucket becomes Private. If your ApsaraVideo VOD bill is overdue for more than 15 days, the bucket that is allocated to you is reclaimed and all data in the bucket such as uploaded and transcoded video files is cleared and cannot be recovered.

Payment settlement and service restoration

If you top up your account within 15 days after the payment becomes overdue, you can keep using ApsaraVideo VOD. After you top up your account, configurations such as accelerated domain name configurations and video playback are restored, but the ACL of the VOD bucket remains Private. You can change the ACL of the VOD bucket based on your business requirements. For more information, see Manage buckets.
