    This topic describes how to activate ApsaraVideo VOD.

    Prerequisites

    An Alibaba Cloud account is created and real-name verification is complete. To create an Alibaba Cloud account, visit the Alibaba Cloud official website. For more information, see Create an Alibaba Cloud account.

    Procedure

    1. Log on to the ApsaraVideo VOD console.

    2. Click Activate ApsaraVideo VOD.

    3. Read and agree to the ApsaraVideo VOD Terms of Service, and then click Activate Now.

      Important

      When you activate the service, a service-linked role named AliyunVODDefaultRole is automatically created and granted permissions to access your cloud resources. This role is used by ApsaraVideo VOD. If you accidentally delete this role, go to the authorization page to create the role and grant the permissions again.

    4. After the service is activated, go to the Overview page in the ApsaraVideo VOD console to get started.
