:Monitor table changes

Last Updated:Jun 05, 2019

Data analysis involves big data. It is difficult to integrate big data analysis with your business. Data Management Service (DMS) provides the data collection feature, which allows you to trace any data changes as the data is accumulated over time.

The data collection feature is based on RDS kernel customization, high-performance collection of instance changes, database changes, and row changes, and professional data analysis and inter-operation. This feature supports real-time monitoring, history trend analysis, and details analysis.

The following scenario shows an example of DMS being used on large online shopping websites. You can log on to your RDS database through DMS and open the table changes page to view the changes of orders. The changes are displayed in real time using three curves.

  • Curve (added rows): the number of orders that have been created.

  • Curve (deleted rows): the number of orders that have been deleted.

  • Curve (updated rows): the number of orders that have been modified.

You can apply DMS to other scenarios based on your business needs. Currently, data collection supports tracing row changes, which is more efficient and cost-effective than traditional data analysis methods.

Using the traditional data analysis method incurs high development costs and impacts source databases. You must synchronize the data to big data platforms or schedule plans to collect data. The data collection method offered by DMS is a more efficient and cost-effective method for you to achieve real-time data change analysis.
