Apsara File Storage NAS:Resource plan overview

Last Updated:Apr 19, 2024

A resource plan is a type of subscription billing method that is provided to offset the storage usage fees of pay-as-you-go file systems. Compared with the pay-as-you-go billing method, a resource plan offers higher discounts. Compared with a storage plan, a resource plan does not need to be bound to a file system and can offset the storage usage fees of multiple file systems. If the base capacity of a single resource plan cannot meet your business requirements, you can purchase multiple resource plans to enjoy higher capacity.

Precautions

  • After you purchase a NAS resource plan, no file system is generated. NAS resource plans can be used to offset only the storage usage fees of NAS file systems. NAS resource plans cannot be used to offset the read and write traffic fees of the Infrequent Access (IA) storage class.

  • After you purchase a resource plan, if the used resources are within the quota of the resource plan, you are not charged for the storage usage. If the used resources exceed the quota of the resource plan, you are charged for the excess storage usage based on the pay-as-you-go billing method.

Resource plan types

Apsara File Storage NAS (NAS) provides two types of resource plans: General-purpose NAS resource plans and Extreme NAS resource plans. You can purchase a single resource plan or a combination of resource plans based on your needs. If you do not purchase a resource plan for your resources, you are charged by using the pay-as-you-go billing method. For example, if you purchase a General-purpose NAS resource plan, you can use the resource plan to offset the storage usage fees of General-purpose NAS file systems. You are charged for Extreme NAS file systems based on the storage capacity that you purchase. The following table describes the offset rules that apply when you use resource plans to offset the storage usage fees of different storage classes of NAS file systems in the Chinese mainland. To view the information about the offset rules that apply in other regions, you can use the calculator.
