:How do I check whether my SSL certificate takes effect on browsers?

Last Updated:Jun 04, 2021

Overview

This article describes how to check whether SSL certificates take effect on browsers after you purchase Alibaba Cloud SSL Certificates Service.

Solutions

After server authentication is complete, the trusted root certificate authority (CA) specified by Trusted Root Certificate Authority in the Select Certificate Store dialog box issues an SSL certificate. This SSL certificate provides both website authentication and encrypted transmission. You can perform the following steps to check whether the SSL certificate takes effect on a browser.

  1. Open your browser and enter the URL in the following format in the address bar:
    https://[$Domain]
Note: [$Domain] indicates the domain name bound to the SSL certificate.
  2. Press Enter. If you can visit the URL and a green lock icon appears on the left of the address bar, your SSL certificate has taken effect on the browser.
