AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL allows you to receive O&M event notifications from the console in addition to voice messages, emails, and internal messages. In the console, you can view event types, regions, procedures, involved instances, precautions, and the default switching time for pending events. You can also change the scheduled switching time.

Precautions

To use this feature, you must log on to the Message Center, select ApsaraDB Fault or Maintenance Notifications, and then specify a contact. We recommend that you specify an O&M engineer as the contact.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Event Center.
  3. Click the Scheduled Events tab.
  4. On the Scheduled Events tab, perform the following operations:
    • View event details

In the scheduled event list, you can view details of scheduled events, such as Event Type, Cause, Business Impact, Start Time, Scheduled Switching Time, Deadline, Cancelable, Schedule Changeable, Status, and Database Engine. For more information about the causes and impacts of events, see Event types.

    • Set the switching time

Scheduled events support the following switching time modes: scheduled event, global schedule, and instance maintenance window, which are listed in descending order of priority.

      Switching time mode Procedure
      Global schedule
Notice After the global schedule is set, all scheduled events generated from the current time are switched based on the latest switching time.

For example, if you set the global schedule to 12:00:00 on Tuesday and 12:00:00 on Friday, scheduled events generated from 12:00:00 on Tuesday to 12:00:00 on Friday are switched at 12:00:00 on Friday. Scheduled events from 12:00:00 this Friday to 12:00:00 next Tuesday are switched at 12:00:00 next Tuesday.

      1. In the upper part of the scheduled event list, click Set Global Schedule.
      2. In the Set Global Schedule panel, specify the periodic switching time by Week or Month.
Note You can view the specified periodic switching time in the upper-right corner of the scheduled event list. If you select None, the periodic switching time is not displayed.
      3. Click Save.
      Scheduled event
      1. In the scheduled event list, select one or more events.
      2. In the upper part of the scheduled event list, click Schedule Event.
      3. In the Schedule Event panel, set the scheduled switching time.
        Note
        • If you select Earliest Execution Time, the system automatically enters the latest switching date and time. After you save the settings, the instances prepare to switch over and enter the Pending state. If you do not select this option, you can customize the schedule.
        • The time specified by Scheduled Switching Time cannot be later than the time specified by Latest Execution Time.
      4. Check whether the appropriate events are selected.
        • If yes, click Save.
        • Otherwise, select the appropriate events in the scheduled event list and set the scheduled event again.
    • Cancel scheduled events

If Event Type of an event is Minor Version Upgrade, you can click Cancel Event in the upper part of the scheduled event list to cancel the specified scheduled event.
